Category Manager – Northern NJ (Bergen County)
Purpose of the role: To develop & lead category strategy ensuring excellent relationships with all our retail
partners, actionable category insights and strong marketing insights that drive growth.
Key Accountabilities & Duties
Category:
Implements and analyzes category management projects
Collects data on sales requirements and obstacles and develop respective solutions
Monitors the realization of sales measures and solutions in the market
Processes market data and disseminates throughout the company, providing monthly reporting and analysis
Track the Gluten Free Market and adjacent categories, tracking NPD’s and monitoring trends
Manages the data suppliers: IRI/Spins, Kantar, Spectra, etc.
Presents research data and insights to Retail Customers
Assess the merchandising of each of our major customers
Recommend trade marketing activities and other support programs at key customers
Assess the suitability of the r group products for the US market; identify white space opportunities for
innovation
Communicates any developments in the US market with Group
Work closely with the sales team to manage the assortment in the US – exploiting assortment and
distribution opportunities
Work closely with the marketing team to advise on NPD and performance of key competitors
Management tasks:
Collaboration in planning and implementation of the team objectives
Planning and control of defined budgets and costs
Continuous improvement of processes and tools, as well as continuous cost optimization within team and
interfaces
Contribute consumption trends and insight to help derive sales forecasts and promotional spend
Assures knowledge transfer and knowledge management (Information and documentation) within team and
interfaces
Requirements:
Five years experience in FMCG
High analytical skills
Strong Presentation skills; ability to craft stories using data and insights
Resiliency & tenacity
